DataPress Solution Architecture

Overview​

The DataPress Solution is a managed solution package that extends Microsoft Power Platform to enable deep integration between WordPress and Dataverse. It provides the essential backend components required for all premium functionality and advanced portal scenarios.

High-Level Solution Components​

The DataPress Solution consists of four key component categories that work together to enable seamless WordPress-Dataverse integration:

1. Tables for WordPress-Specific Functionality​

Custom tables store WordPress-related configuration and metadata in Dataverse, ensuring all WordPress integration data remains organized and accessible within your Dataverse environment. These tables maintain site registration information, user mappings, configuration settings, and integration audit trails.

2. Plugins Providing Virtualization, Messaging, and Eventing Features​

Specialized plugins extend Dataverse capabilities to support real-time communication and event handling between WordPress and Dataverse. They manage asynchronous data synchronization, automatically respond to Dataverse events, and ensure bidirectional communication patterns work seamlessly.

3. Helper Actions for Automation Tasks​

Reusable automation actions provide common operations needed for WordPress-Dataverse integration scenarios. These include data synchronization, validation, notification triggers, and error handling that can be leveraged in Power Automate flows and custom automation.

4. Baseline Security Role for WordPress Connection​

A dedicated security role follows a least-privilege access model, granting only the minimum permissions necessary for WordPress to communicate with Dataverse instance. It defines access permissions required by the WordPress application user to connect to Dataverse.
